The transition toward an aging society makes the National Retirement Readiness Index (NRRI) essential from a policy perspective. This index systematically reflects individuals’ levels of retirement readiness in terms of both financial conditions and quality of life, enabling the government to identify gaps and design targeted policies to promote saving and elderly welfare. In addition, the NRRI plays an important role in public communication and awareness-building regarding sustainable retirement planning. As such, it serves as a key mechanism for preparing Thailand to cope with an aging society in the long term.
