Beginning in
2007, the Chulalongkorn Accounting and Finance
Symposium (CAFS) is organized annually in cooperation with the Department of
Accountancy and the Centre of Economics and Finance, Chinese University of Hong
Kong. The CAFS serves as a platform on which junior faculty members in the
Department of Banking and Finance and the Department of Accountancy present
their working papers and receive critiques from renowned authors. The CAFS is
typically held on the first Thursday and Friday of November each year.
Theoretical
and empirical research papers in all areas of accounting and finance are
welcome to be submitted for presentation. All submissions are peer-reviewed. Up
to ten papers will be selected by the program committee, chaired by Professor
Paul Malatesta.
High-quality
outside submissions are also welcome. Each year, a
call for papers is announced on the SSRN. For a small number of accepted
manuscripts, an allowance of up to USD 1,500 may be offered to the presenting
author at the discretion of the program committee chair.
